Theme update now causing cpu usage to max out and website extremely slow

Hello,
I have updated the theme this morning and since update keep getting a maxxed out cpu usage on hosting server. Before theme update this was not a problem. Is there any way to go back to previous version until this has been fixed please?

Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress theme like twentysixteen to understand is it our theme issue or not? Also, describe to us your problems in a bit more details. Attach some screenshots and provide us with a list of steps on how to reproduce it on your website.
