vynilParticipantHi, is it possible to translate only the frontend strings with Loco Translate or PoEdit? I don’t want to view all available strings in one place, but I’d prefer to filter them. Thank you.

vynilParticipante.g. there is a string “view cart” which is a frontend string. I want to translate all frontend strings without the backend strings – e.g. Woodmart, Theme options, etc.

Hung PhamKeymasterHi vynil,
If so, you don’t need to select the language for the backend and theme settings for admin from the admin user profile. Yes you can by going to WP dashboard > Users > All Users > find your username and click Edit > in
Personal Options
section, change the language to whatever language you want. This way, your backend language can be different than your frontend language.Regards,

vynilParticipantHi,
But in this way, I will see the frontend strings in the language I’m using for my profile as well, no? I mean if I change the language to English for my user, I will see the English strings on frontend as well, but I want to translate the theme for another language, not English.

vynilParticipantWe’re currently facing a problem where multiple strings share the same name (e.g., “product”) in different parts of the system (frontend vs. backend). This causes confusion for translators, as they can’t tell which string corresponds to the frontend UI and which one is for admin panel (setting etc). This ambiguity increases the risk of incorrect translations and slows down the overall localization process.

vynilParticipantHey there Hung,
Please try to find one string e.g. product. You will find out that there’s no tooltip which is the correct string that you are looking for. You can translate product, but it might be the string in the dashboard, not in the frontend.
You don’t need access to reproduce that.
