tamara-5456ParticipantHi,
So it started with me not being able to update the theme. I followed the instructions of previous topics, to deactivate the theme> Check Again etc.
However, I click to deactivate but when I go back it’s still activated. I’ve tried multiple times now. I checked topics again where someone tried deactivating all the plugins – it worked for them but not for me. Still I can’t deactivate the theme! I need to make this work ASAPPlease advise

tamara-5456ParticipantBut where does that leave me? How do I proceed? There’s backup at my hosting but I need to know what’s happening and when it will be fixed

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
If you cannot deactivate the theme it means you have a broken version of the theme. You need to download the official theme from the ThemeForest, then update it manually, deactivate and activate it to get access to automatic updates.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Best Regards

tamara-5456ParticipantI did that already, that’s the first thing I did! I had a third party that installed the theme but I purchased the theme from Theme Forest (that’s why I have support) and changed the license key. How do I manually deactivate it in any other way??

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
No, changing the license key is not enough. You need to reinstall the theme completely. Firstly, download the latest version of the theme in your account on ThemeForest. Then go to WordPress dashboard -> Appearance -> Themes -> Add new and replace your old theme.
Kind Regards

tamara-5456ParticipantOk, did that but now my website has crashed. I’ll try to revert back to a backup with my host but is there any other way?

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
You need to check the error log and see what error caused that crash. Maybe you have a customized version of the theme and in this case our theme doesn’t cover any problems caused by custom code in the theme.
Kind Regards
