Update from 3.3 to 6.2 help

Hello,

Is there a special procedure that needs to be followed when updating the theme from v3.3 to the current one? I am working on a clients site and he still has v3.3 and a lot of problems. I bought the latest theme from themeforest but I am not sure how I should proceed with updating the website.

I would recommend you to arrange a sataging site, and install new WordPress installation.

Install the theme and upload the demo (if you want demo) then, recreate header in the Header builder: https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/header-builder/ you can try export import header from you live site to the testing: https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/header-builder/how-to-exportimport-headers/

Then recreate or migrate footer and all the widgets area. As soon as you finish the site configuration, delete all the demo, and import-export the content from you live site.

Finally you can add the other plugins from the live site one by one checking the site. Then as sooon as the site is ready you can move it the live site.

Updating the theme in the live site would crash part of the site and you will have to recreate sam parts of the site in any case.

I updated the theme and installed the child theme (the client did not have one).

My only problem is the I cannot set the header. When I try to set up the header, it freezes. Please see the printscreen.

Otherwise, I think I manage to recreate the buttons and the small things that are missing.

Please deactivate all the plugins except these ones:

Slider Revolution
WPBakery Page Builder or Elementor
Woodmart Core
Contact Form 7
MailChimp for WordPress
WooCommerce
Safe SVG

If the problem has gone, activate the plugins one by one, checking the issue to detect which one causes the problem.

I deactivated all plugins except the ones you mentioned but the problem persists. The header builder is still freezing.

Hi Regar,

I click on Header Settings for Header Logo center, and in the next screen it freezes. I tried different laptops but it still freezes. In fact, I just found out what the problem is…. It doesn’t work on Safari. I tried Google Chrome and it worked.

I pushed my site to production and now I have an issue with the logo that disappears after scroll. How can I solve this issue, considering that my logo is set to be sticky?
