Ok, so after some trial and error I got everything almost working.
I had to activate the parent theme and then activate the child theme again. For some reason the layout got better.
The footer is messy, I’m using the basic theme with the original footer with 4 columns and the blog column for some reason is under the first.
The problem may occur when you switch between themes in Appearance -> Themes is that widgets may lose their positions. It is a WordPress behavior and we are not able to fix this in our theme scope. Now, you need to go to Appearance -> Widgets and move all widgets to appropriate positions.
