Use images from product variations not working

I have selected the Use images from product variations but it is not working. it is still showing just the colors and not the images?

The color has higher priority so you should disable it in the settings of each swatch item and enable the “Text swatch” option, then the images will be shown (more detail in the video below).

Is there another way? That means I won’t be able to have colour swatches in the filter?

Yes, you are right. You can define a color picture for the “Image swatch” field and it will be like a color in the filter area, please check the video below.
