USER PROFILE IMAGE

Hi… I set up as a new user on my website to expeience what a new user sign up would…
I can’t find anywhere I would add my own profile pic (as a customer / user).. I just feel it looks better if they have the option and when they leave reviews it looks more personable…?

By default, WordPress itself doesn’t store profile pictures locally. It usually pulls them from Gravatar: https://support.gravatar.com/basic/what-is-gravatar/?utm_source=chatgpt.com , which is tied to the user’s email address. That’s why you don’t see an upload option in the account area.

Why you don’t see a profile picture upload

In standard WordPress:

• User avatars come from Gravatar
• Users must create a Gravatar account and upload their image there
• WordPress automatically displays it when they comment or leave reviews

So your customers technically can have avatars — but they must set them through Gravatar, which many people never do.

99.99999% – 100.00000000% of customers are not going to sign up to gravatar, then link back to my site then purchase… is there any way around this even if i add a picture???

Have you tried with some third party plugin like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-local-avatars/ ?
If no then please try and let me know the result.
