utf8mb4 requires newer documentation

Hi there,

My hostingserver is using UTF8MB4 in MariaDB -database.
How can I start using this, because I am getting many problems when this is not yet active?

This is from my site and I asked this from my hostingprovider.
“WordPress utf8mb4 support requires at least version 5.5.3 of the MySQL client library (libmysql). Please contact your service provider.”

This is their response:
According to the announcement, the utf8mb4 character encoding is supported by the MariaDB database server of our web hotel and can be freely used on the pages. When changing the character set, you should contact the site developer.

This question is not related to the theme directly. If WordPress works correctly with your server configuration then our theme will not have any problems either.
