Variable Image Products (Continued)

Sorry, I replied too soon to the other ticket. Although the sample that we did worked for using the product images as the options, when I started working on other products, it didn’t work.

Be sure that all your color options have some default color values set in Dashboard -> Products -> Attributes.

That’s great. However, we currently have 315 pa_color attributes. To enter a default color manually would be very cumbersome. We were hoping that we can upload a CSV file using the pa_color ID with the default color set to let’s say “black” since we’re using an image so it won’t matter anyway. However, we can’t locate the name of the field in the database for “Color preview for this value”. We called WP Engine (our hosting company) and they said the field was created by the theme.

Therefore, if you can give us the name and the value format (is it a name of a color such as “black” or Hex code), so we can upload a CSV file.

Hi,

Hope all is well.

We were able to add the Hex code as a bulk and now all colors have a Hex (for the most part). We have been attaching images to the variations and the image swatches showed up just fine.

For some reason this product in particular isn’t working. We checked everything on the product page and everything seemed to be done correctly. However, it’s showing the color instead of the images, but we have attached the image for each variation.

We have recreated the product from scratch per your suggestion (see new link below), but we still have the same issue. Furthermore, now the zoom rendering is not working properly either. See screen shot.

1) Could you please send us your FTP access so we can check what is wrong there?

2) You use a third-party plugin for zoom. Try using the defaukt function of our theme, you can find the switch in the Dashboard -> Theme Settings -> Product Page -> Main image click action -> Zoom

2. We have the default zoom function of the theme turned on, but we actually prefer the zoom from 3rd party plugin. We updated the plugin so hopefully, it helps.
