Variation as a product – in search but not in shop

Hello, this feature is fantastic, but I would like to know if it’s possible to get kind of different result, let me explain below.
When this function is ON, variation is showed as a single product everywhere, but I want this feature just for search results.
We are HVAC company and sell ACs which have 4 variations of capacity. Visually they are all the same products so if someone goes through shop and looks for AC’s with our 4 brand products they get result of 16 product which is confusing and I would like to show them merged as 4 product. While I want to be able to show all the variations when they search for brand or model name using search bar, so there won’t be just single product but all the variations.

Is there any solution?
