Variation as product (not for all)

Hi, love the variants as product feature. But I have a product which has 3 levels (material, size, color). So the showing all variants could be too complex.
I have globally switched on ‘variations as product’ but I’d like to swich off this feature for this single product only. How can I do that? I tried to click on ‘Exclude variation products on grid’ but with global setting of not showing the ‘parent’ I see nothing. So in this case I need an option to NOT HIDE parent products for this single product only as I cannot change the global settings of both.

If you want to disable this theme settings option only for one product then you should use the theme preset:

Hi Aizaz, thank you, I did not know this feature. Is a really game changer!
I did all as you told me, but unfortunately it did not work.

New preset ‘Wollsocken ohne’ where I choosed the main ID if of the Wollsocken product (9582) that I see also when editing the product. Strangely if I look for Wollsocken in your conditions options I see 11 IDs for Wollsocken (probaly all variations). I hope that the 1st and main one is the correct.
Then I edited the Theme Preset of ‘Wollsocken ohne’ disabling ‘Show single variation’ and ‘Hide variantions parent’.
What else should I do to make it work?

Hi, as the variants gallery images do not work properly I inverted the rules, so no more the whole theme with variants as products with a few without that feature, NOW the main theme settings is to show parent product, and only a few I manually with activate variants as products .

I did this now for theme settings preset ‘Show Variants’ with ‘show variants as products’ and ‘hide parent’ for the product ’tischset’, but it does not work.I also reopend product and resaved it. And regenerated transients.

Sorry to say that it will not work with presets, unfortunately. But, there is an option to exclude particular variations. You can find this while editing the variation itself.

You need to enable this option in Theme Settings first https://ibb.co/Y0rPYWw then you will see an extra check box near the “manage stock?” https://ibb.co/w7zP915

Hi Aizaz, thank you for the link. Yes I know this feature. But your preset should work for the whole product, right?

I hope you have noticed that now I tried to switch the logic. So default is not showing variants, but for some products I’d like to activate the showing variants (like Tischset). As written above teoretical the preset should work, but it does not work. And the plan B as shown in your screenshot is not possible because ‘Show variant product’ is not visible as option.

Yes, it is not possible to apply the preset for all the products to exclude particular variations. You have to use the above explained procedure.

Ok, so you tell me that also the theme settings presets do not really work globally, or better: they do not understand that they have to reenable some settings like the ‘show variant’ setting. It’s a pity that the presets are so limited. They could be a really game changer.

So, if I accept this limit, I need turn back to the original idea (even if it’s more work for me) to SHOW ALL variants, execpt in some cases , where I use the theme presets to show the parent and not the variants like I did with ‘Wollsocken’, but as I told you it did not work either. Please tell me how to make it work.

Yes, unfortunately, this option can’t be activated/deactivated on particular pages using presets because it uses global hooks, and presets can’t be applied here.
So the only solution is to exclude particular variations using options from this screenshot https://imgbb.com/w7zP915

thank you for the info. I really hoped that the theme settings presets could be flexible and work with all settings. It’s very disappointing if you discover a so great tool and discover after that it’s obsolete or very limited. Your devs should include more possibilities in the (promised) features of Woodmart.
So now I have to remove all features and at the end I have not much advantages over other themes. Hoped to be more special. Probalby will not buy more licences for new clients.
