I need help with the variation gallery behavior on my WooCommerce website.
I have a variable product with two attributes:
Color: Black, Tan
Size: UK 6, UK 7, UK 8, UK 9, UK 10, UK 11
I want to assign product images only according to Color, not according to Size.
For example:
– Black → Black product images
– Tan → Tan product images
I have uploaded/assigned the images to the Black + UK 7 and Tan + UK 7 variations as a test.
The problem is that when I select UK 7, the correct color images appear. But when I change the size to UK 6, UK 8, UK 9, etc., WoodMart/WooCommerce changes back to the default product image because those exact Color + Size variations don’t have images assigned.
Required behavior:
If the customer selects Black + UK 6, Black + UK 7, Black + UK 8, Black + UK 9, etc., the same Black color gallery should remain active.
If the customer selects Tan + UK 6, Tan + UK 7, Tan + UK 8, Tan + UK 9, etc., the same Tan color gallery should remain active.
In other words, I need the product gallery to be controlled by the Color attribute only, while Size should only change the selected variation/price/stock and must not reset the product gallery.
I do not want to upload the same images separately for every size variation.
Is there a WoodMart setting, built-in feature, or recommended WoodMart-compatible solution to achieve this?
Ideally, I need:
Color → controls images
Size → controls variation/stock only
Please advise how I can configure this correctly without creating duplicate images for every Color × Size combination.
