Website keeps loading after update

Hello I just updated the theme and I can’t login to to my wordpress amdin panel or the website. i get Error 524

my website is down please help

Have you made the backup of your site? Please restore the site (I do hope you have done) and provide me with site admin access and FTP I will update.

I tried to do it manually now it just keeps loading, and its showing that I have 2 woodmart themes https://imgur.com/LqUuPdz

Do not touch child theme and do not touch active, just delete the second WoodMart.

Unfortunately not I did a backup 2 weeks ago, When the theme is renamed I can access the admin panel if its not it keeps loading.

When I delete the the second one the active one gets deleted too and the child theme disappears, but its the child theme is still in the file directory

We have the same problem after an update. I suggest you must have a staging site to test the updates. Luckily I tested it first before I put it on my live site.

silbang, yes I did test it and it worked fine on my staging site but on my live site I have no idea what happened

Okay I have done some testing and here is what i found

1-The website works when I upload the theme once I edit anything with wpbakery or the normal edit option for pages, html blocks anything on WordPress the whole website stops working

2- some times all the pages work except for the main page (home page) (header shows up, nothing else and the page keeps loading)

3- other times it works but then it suddenly stops working and the website keeps loading ( if I don’t edit anything with wpbakery, sometimes all pages work except for the home page this one also if I don’t edit anything. or it just keeps loading for 2-3 minutes then it works

4- once I try to deactivate wpbakery (when the website is working) it goes back to just loading state

I think the problem is wpbakery but is there something that needs to be changed in function.php? something related to elemntor or wpbakery?

also When the website is working there is an issue with the CSS on Firefox and Microsoft edge (header became transparent and some pages layout is different).

We have just visited your website and it seems to be working well now. Please, check from your side. Or provide us a list of steps of how to see the problem on your website.

Yes it working fine now but I can’t edit any page, or html block once I click on edit the website keeps loading, and the if I keep it as it is without editing anything the loading issue happens randomly.

I will try to edit something now and you can visit the website and check.

as am typing to you now the home page stopped working again.!

Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand is it our theme issue or not?

yes its working fine with twentytwenty, this issue started after I updated the theme.

In this case, please, keep the default theme active, disable all extra plugins and allow us to check how it works. Also, send us a step by step instruction how to reproduce the problem with WoodMart.

Steps

1- activate woodmart theme (it will take some time to work)
2- problem happens home page does not work (other pages might work) sometimes the whole website does not work
3- if it does work try to edit any page with WPbakery(or wordpress editor) and the site will keep loading
4- to resolve the problem in #3 you need to delete the theme folder and upload it again and repeat step one

am 100% it has something to do with wpbakery but again it also happened randomly twice

We have released a new version 5.3.3 that fixes this issue. It shouldn’t appear in the future again.
