Widgets gone after switching between themes

When switching to another theme for testing or whatever, all my settings/widgets on the widgets page (Display – Widgets), are set to default and so there are deleted. I have to manualy put them all back again…
Is there a way to save my settings/widgets so this does not happen anymore?

The problem that may occur when you switch between themes in Appearance -> Themes is that widgets may lose their positions. It is a WordPress behavior and we are not able to fix this in our theme scope.
As a workaround, you can backup your widgets configurations using this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-importer-exporter/

There are no other ways to do this, unfortunately. But anyway, you can uninstall the plugin after backing up your widgets.
