haynzy129ParticipantHi support,
So I am really confused as to why there’s separate brand taxonomies, the Woocommerce built-in one and Woodmarts’ attribute for brands.
The only problem I’m having is that none of the Woocommerce product brands are showing up in product feeds/styles and pages.
Is there a way to link both the Woocommerce Product Brands with the Brand attribute to save having to duplicate the amount I’ve already imported?
I hope this makes sense.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
WoodMart uses its own Brand attribute instead of the default WooCommerce Product Brands taxonomy, which is why the brands from WooCommerce are not appearing in product feeds and styles.
Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to automatically link both taxonomies. If you want to use Woodmart brands, You need to change core brands permalinks from “brands” to something like “core-brands” in Settings > Permalinks.
But if you want to use a new core brand instead of the theme’s custom attribute, need to deselect the custom attribute in Theme Settings > Shop > Brands.

haynzy129ParticipantHi Aizaz,
So to clarify, I will need to use the ‘brand’ attributes in future rather than Woocommerce’s in-built brands.
I have changed the product brand base permalink to ‘core-brands’.
Is this everything I need to do to make it work?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Yes, since WoodMart uses its own brand attribute, you will need to use the ‘brand’ attribute from WoodMart instead of WooCommerce’s built-in Product Brands in the future.
Now that you have changed the product brand base permalink to ‘core-brands,’ the next step is to ensure that the theme is using WoodMart’s brand attribute correctly. To do this:
Go to Theme Settings > Shop > Brands and make sure the custom brand attribute is enabled. If you want to display WoodMart’s brands in product feeds and styles, ensure that your products are assigned to the correct WoodMart brand attribute.
If you have any questions feel free to contact us.

haynzy129ParticipantHi team!
So I’ve gone with your in-built attributes for brands. Facing a problem though with my importer (ImportWP) – I have also sent a support ticket with them to see if there’s a solution their end.
My importer successfully imports all products from my supplier with their Brands. It’s imported into Attributes as a hierarchy too, so everything is nested perfectly. When I click on ‘configure terms’ the Attributes are assigned as the values show in the column.
The problem I have is that even though in the backend Attributes they’re showing as populated, when I click on the products individually the attributes aren’t showing as linked/added? Brands is nowhere to be seen, so I added one manually and the brand attribute shows up in the product page and styles.
I’m assuming the importer has imported the attributes as a taxonomy through to attributes, but somehow failed to link up to the products despite in the backend the attributes are showing populated?
Is there anyway to fix this?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Try to go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools and click on “Regenerate the product attributes lookup table” and check the issue.
Let me know the results.

haynzy129ParticipantHi again,
I gave that a go and nothing worked 🙁
Many thanks,

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
It seems like the issue may be with your importer not properly linking the attributes to the products. While the attributes appear in the backend, they may not be correctly assigned to individual products.
To verify, I tested the products import using WooCommerce’s built-in CSV Import/Export feature, and the attributes are displayed correctly. You might want to try importing with this method to see if it resolves the issue.
Here’s a detailed guide on how to use the WooCommerce CSV Importer/Exporter:
