I have two additional questions related to the Product Categories element in Elementor:

    1) WooCommerce query shows the default category (_Uncategorized)
When editing the Product Categories element (Elementor → Content tab), I selected Data source = WooCommerce query. However, the default category _Uncategorized still appears on the frontend. I do not want this default/system category to be displayed.

Where can I modify the WooCommerce query rules used by this element (e.g., exclude specific categories such as _Uncategorized)?

    2) Are Category IDs system-defined? Can they be changed?
I noticed categories have numeric IDs.

Are these IDs automatically assigned by WordPress/WooCommerce and fixed?
If I need different IDs (for ordering or excluding), what is the correct approach (e.g., term ordering, custom query, exclude list), since IDs seem not editable?

Thank you in advance for your clarification.

    Hello,

When you set the Data source to WooCommerce query in Woodmart’s Product Categories element, it essentially asks WooCommerce to “show everything.” Since WooCommerce requires every product to have at least one category, “Uncategorized” is treated as a valid term and included by default.

If you only have a few categories, the easiest way to exclude “Uncategorized” is to change the Data source from “WooCommerce query” to Manual Selection.

    2. Yes, category IDs (term IDs) are system-defined and auto-assigned by WordPress sequentially (e.g., first category gets ID 16 after defaults). They are permanently fixed—you cannot edit them via UI or safely change via database without breaking links, permalinks, and queries.

    Best Regards.
