WooCommerce vs WoodMart brands

can you please explain, what is the difference between WooCommerce and WoodMart brands? Which one do you recommend to use?
Are the settings (shop > brands) related to WooCommerce brands or does this only concern WoodMart brands?

You can use the default brands from WooCommerce. Those settings also work for the brands from WooCommerce.

But there must be a reason why you offer WoodMart brands. So what are the advantages?
Our Brands feature existed before WooCommerce Brands integration. Now, WooCommerce Brands is free built-in functionality, but previously it was a paid plugin from WooCommerce. So our brands feature was an alternative to the paid plugin.
