    Hello WoodMart Support Team,

I recently purchased a new WoodMart Regular License and now have active technical support.

My website is https://dosfuentes.cl, an active WooCommerce online store in Chile.

We currently use WoodMart version 6.4.2 and want to update to version 8.6.6.

When attempting the automatic update through WordPress, we received the following error:

PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10): Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    Our current configuration is:

    WordPress: 7.1.3

    WooCommerce: 11.2.1

    WoodMart: 6.4.2

    WoodMart Core: 1.0.33

    WPBakery: 8.7.2

    PHP: 8.2 Secured

The original WoodMart license was purchased by the developer who built our website. It still appears as “Activated” in WordPress, but we do not have access to its original Purchase Code.

We have now purchased our own new license and downloaded the official installation ZIP from Envato, but we have not installed it yet.

We would appreciate your advice on the following:

Can we update directly from WoodMart 6.4.2 to 8.6.6, or should we install intermediate versions? If intermediate versions are recommended, which ones?

What is the safest recommended procedure for this major version upgrade?

Could the PCLZIP error be caused by the old license activation or the automatic download process?

Should WoodMart Core and WPBakery be updated in a particular order?

Are there any compatibility requirements regarding WooCommerce 11.2.1 and PHP 8.2?

Since we have purchased a new license, how should we replace the existing activation without risking the website?

Our store uses Transbank Webpay Plus and Oneclick payment gateways, membership-based pricing, and customized WooCommerce templates.

We want to avoid disrupting customer orders, payments, or membership functionality.

We plan to perform the upgrade in a protected staging environment before updating our live website.

Please advise us on the recommended upgrade procedure.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

    Best regards,

    Carlos Miranda

    Hello,

    01. Try to do the following to update the theme:

    1. Navigate to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License and deactivate the theme.
    2. Go to Dashboard -> Updates and click on Check Again.
    3. Activate the theme with your purchase code again.
    4. Go to Dashboard -> Updates and click on Check Again.
    5. Try to update the theme via Appearance -> Themes or via Dashboard -> Updates.

    02. Update the WoodMart theme first. Then update WoodMart Core and WPBakery from Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Plugins, so the theme and its plugins stay on matching versions.

    03. The latest WoodMart works with current WooCommerce versions. For PHP, our documentation lists PHP 8.3 or later as a requirement, so please ask your hosting provider to upgrade from 8.2. You can test this on staging first.

    04. Changing the license doesn’t affect your content, settings, orders or payments. It only controls theme updates and access to features like the Patcher.

    Best Regards
