JoshParticipantHello Woodmart,
We love your theme however we have had 4 websites that use your theme. 2 are not happy with the update 8.2.20 and the other 2 have crashed. We found a way into the backend and replaced the Woodmart theme with an older version which helped with the problem.
So something has gone wrong with this update for some reason. Please can you let us know how to fix the problem with our having to downgrade the theme?
Regards,

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Please update the theme now and send us your admin access so we can check what is wrong. Also, keep all plugins that are not related to our theme temporarily turned off.
Kind Regards

JoshParticipantHi Artem,
Thank you for your reply! At present all 4 websites are LIVE and I have replaced the theme with 7.6.0 so I want to wait with any updates and turning off any plugins till I know exactly what is going on. What I can do is make a copy from the website on a staging area….
Then I can indeed do an update to 8.0.3 and also turn off all plugins. If you are okay with that I can also send an admin access to the website in the staging area.

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
Sure, you can reproduce it on your staging website so we can check it there.
Kind Regards

JoshParticipantHI Artem,
Here are the credentials to login to the Staging area. All 4 websites have pretty much the same setup. I updated the theme to 8.0.3 on the staging area. I also turned off the most plugins however plugins such as WooCommerce and others can’t be deactivated.
We appreciate you checking it out and letting us know where the conflict seems to be.
Cheers mate

Artem TemosKeymasterAs we can see, the theme is up to date and there is no PHP error on the website. Could you please clarify how to reproduce it?

JoshParticipantHi Artem,
I turned all the plugins off as you mentioned so I think that when all the plugins are back on it should come with the same message hopefully. Do you want me to turn on all the plugins?

Artem TemosKeymasterTry to enable all plugins one-by-one to understand which plugin causes this error on your website.

JoshParticipantOkay … I will let you know what happens.. 🙂

JoshParticipantHi Artem,
I have updated all the plugins and it hasn’t crashed so I am not sure what is going on and why it crashed when it updated to 8.0.3. However the fact that this happened on 4 websites means it isn’t just a one time thing. Do you have any suggestions to test further on the staging site?
If it seems okay I may try again tonight to update to 8.0.3 and see what happens…
Did the information I sent about the error give any clues?regards,

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
We fixed a similar issue in our 8.0.3 update, so you just need to update the theme on all websites.

JoshParticipantHi Artem,
We also had problems on 2 other websites with the 8.0.2 update. So 6 in total. I have now changed the settings for automatic updates from the theme to manual updates. Then at least it doesn’t update unless I ask it too.
Thanks for your quick reply and help. As it was evident that the theme was the problem I used FTP to downgrade all our webshops woodmart themes to 7.6.0. After this all our webshops were stable again.
As of today I have updated all websites to 8.0.4 and that seems to have helped as they are all now stable. We appreciate your hard work on such a great theme and also on getting an update out quickly to rectify the problem.
We use it on at least 8 webshops with WooCommerce.
Take care and thanks again for your quick response.
