    Hi Xtemos,

Love your Woodmart theme, it’s our only choice!
We need your help to understand how to improve our organic results:

We are currently experiencing a waste of crawl budget due to the “?add-to-cart=” parameter available in all product images, which harms our organic performance on search engines. Although the rel=”nofollow” attribute advises the user agent not to follow these links, it doesn’t prevent them from being crawled. Is there a solution to remove this parameter from the source code and have only the absolute URL for the product page accessible?

    Best regards,
    Miguel

    Hello,

Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand is it our theme issue or not?

    I await your response.

    Kind Regards

    Hello Luke

You can explore the Chrono (https://organicthemes.com/demo/chrono/), a native WooCommerce theme, where the “Add to cart” button can be substituted with a “View product” button.
This replacement eliminates the “?add-to-cart=” parameter and replaces it with the absolute URL of the product page.
By doing so, it resolves the issue of crawl budget wastage that we have been observing.
We had similar expectations for this possibility in a premium template like Woodmart.

Can you help us on that?

    Kind Regards,
    Miguel

    Hello,

The theme that you mentioned is not the default theme, most likely the button was changed there. In our theme, the add card button is the default from WooCommerce and we do not change it. But if you want to change it, you need to copy the button template from the plugins/woocommerce/templates/loop/loop-end.php folder to the child theme woodmart-child/woocommerce/templates/loop/loop-end.php and change the content there, or use this hook woocommerce_product_add_to_cart_url for changing the URL address of the product add to cart.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Luke,

thank you for your answer and suggestion.
I gave your instructions to our programmer for this project and he couldn’t make the change. Is it possible that your team can help us in this matter, since you know better the template? My client and his SEO professional already asked me if it wouldn’t be easier to change the template, but I insist on continuing to use woodmart, it’s our template of choice. This was the most complicated question so far that I found in your template. I would apreciate your support.
