martin-7207ParticipantHi guys,
Just installed (finally managed to set the right ngnix parameters by out IT to be able to get pass the famous 15% demo import mark and the 300 seconds error 🙂
and now looking around to get used to the theme. There’s something we can’t figure out so far. When we go to, say, front page and try to change row padding in WP Bakery Design options tab, nothing happens – we change the padding, hit Save and Update and when we go back the parameter is gone and is set back to -. It’s like there’s an override which does not allow saving the custom padding.
Checked the forum, saw there’s similar thread, saw the Bakery Design options tutorials, but it does not help. Everything seems to be set correctly set in the WP Bakery options, yet the custom padding is not saved.
Also, every time we hit edit for an element, the WP Bakery edit window opens, but the General tab is empty. Once we hit any other tab and then go back to General tab, then it shows the settings there.

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand if is it our theme issue or not?
Let me know the result.
Kind Regards

martin-7207ParticipantLuke, hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, we’ve tested by switching to TwentyTwenty and we edited a page by using WP Bakery with following results:
One we hit the pencil, the content of the General tab is displaying and once we enter padding parameters under Design Options and save it works – saves the parameters.
So under TwentyTwenty it all works as expected.

martin-7207ParticipantHm, weird – now that we switched back to Woodmart theme it suddenly works there as well.
Not sure if you did something or it’s just of switching back and forth between the themes,
but we now the preset custom paddings and are able to modify them.January 9, 2024 at 3:41 pm #528287
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Maybe it was some sort of cache. So let me know if it happens again.
Thank you for your time.
Kind Regards

martin-7207ParticipantIn the end, it looks like some kind of issue with the child theme.
When the main theme is active, the JS works and also the Design options work.
When child theme is active, once we hit the pencil (row edit) in WP Bakery, the wheel spins and then the content of the General tab is not displayed. Then upon switching to Design Options tab there are no paddings and margins and if you enter some and save they are not saved. Switching back to the main theme – it works. But it’s good to have the child thme active.

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
In this case, the issue is the additional code from functions.php of the child theme. So hide all custom code in the functions.php file and recheck the issue.
Kind Regards
