ha21cnParticipantWhen I was using WPBakery to decorate my website, I found that even if the column spacing was set to 0px, the space between the column contents was still very large. I would like to know how to set a smaller spacing.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Try to move the columns to a separate row because the column gap works in a separate row.
Follow this Guide on how it works: https://kb.wpbakery.com/docs/wpbakery-page-builder-how-tos/how-to-change-gap-between-columns/Best Regards,

ha21cnParticipantI think you didn’t understand what I meant. I meant that even if I set it to 0 gap, there is still a lot of space between the columns.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Please try checking the column padding or margins applied at the row or column level in WPBakery. Even if the column spacing is set to 0px, additional space may still appear due to these settings.
If the issue remains, share the WP login details so I can further check on your site and give you a possible solution.

ha21cnParticipantI tried it, but it didn’t work at all; the gap between the two columns is still too large.
I also discovered a problem: when the Menu is set to Aside, it has no background color. How can I fix this?

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Can you please share the page URL of the HTML Block where you want to set the column spacing so I can check and give you a possible solution?

ha21cnParticipantDid you check the video link I sent you? The video shows how the HTML Block menu is displayed. Also, I’ve set the column spacing to 0 for all the Promotion Banners on the homepage. I don’t think I need to show you a specific page, because you can see the very large spacing between all the columns on the homepage.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
Please check your site and review the banner section at the bottom of the homepage. I’ve imported the template there with a 0px column gap setting. Kindly review the setup of these banners and replicate the same structure for consistency across your design.

ha21cnParticipantHow to solve the problem of no background color when using the Aside mode in the HTML of the menu?

ha21cnParticipantI see you haven’t provided a solution, but I’ve already sent you a video link to review the specific details.

Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
When using the Aside style under the dropdown settings, the background color will only appear if there are submenu items or proper mega menu content inside it.
Please follow these steps how it works:
Navigate to Appearance -> Menu -> Edit menu item and set the drop-down setting design aside: https://ibb.co/g3QVMPP
Add the sub-item like in the screenshot: https://ibb.co/3B42yKc
In the sub-item set the drop-down and add the HTML Block for the drop-down: https://ibb.co/vVFX5cS

However, there’s a problem. I don’t want to use a full-width menu. I want the dropdown menu to look like the screenshot shows, with empty space on both sides if the client has a high-resolution monitor. The dropdown menu’s position should be the same width as the header, not the same width as the screen. I’m not sure if you understand what I mean. Do you need me to record a screen recording to show you the difference between the two methods?November 7, 2025 at 2:08 pm #694812
Aizaz Imtiaz AwanKeymasterHello,
I understand what you mean — you want the dropdown (Aside style) to align with the header container width instead of stretching full width across the screen.
Please follow these steps and create it like this:
Navigate to Appearance -> Menu -> Edit menu item and set the drop-down setting design aside: https://ibb.co/g3QVMPP
Add the sub-item like in the screenshot: https://ibb.co/3B42yKc
In the sub-item set the drop-down and add the HTML Block for the drop-down: https://ibb.co/vVFX5cS
Please see this video for a better understanding: https://shorturl.at/EBkDX

ha21cnParticipantBut what I mean is that I don’t need sub-items; what I want is to achieve the same effect without sub-items.
