Parent theme not visable

    Hi, I guess I have a bigger issue. I started working with wordpress about a couple of weeks ago. After working on my page for like a week or two I bought your theme. And I love it and got used to it. Since I had another issue I was going through everything today and realized I don’t have a parent theme… How can that be and how can I fix this without having to start all over again. I hope you have an easy answer to that too. Is there a way to fix this? I didn’t even know thats possible. Thanks in advance…..

    Hello,

    That is not possible. The theme would not work without the parent theme. You could rename the folder. Please update your credentials I will check.

    Thank you! Not that I understand it all the way but thanks…. I just checked under tools and web status and it still says so that I have no parent theme. Your answer means so that woodmart is the parent theme now right? Does that mean than I don’t have a child theme? Thought Woodmart was my child theme. Little confused. Reason for asking is that whenever there is an update it makes changes to my shop which I of course don’t want. It sometimes changes the look of my product colums e.g. Don’t I need a child theme? Also I have lots of themes under design. Do I need all those and are they taking away speed of my page too?

    Hello,

    Now you do not have the child theme. If you do not customize the functionality you do not need the child theme. You can read more here https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/

    If you update the theme automatically as described here https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/update-theme-2/ you should not lose any settings, the site remains as it was.

    You can leave one default WordPress theme and one Woodmart theme version. I see you have one previous Woodmart version, delete it. If you want to keep this version, keep somewhere else.
