Child categories inherit parent image

    Hi guys
    change log says:
    FIXED: Child categories did not inherit the image from the parent.(https://xtemos.com/forums/topic/header-image-cat/)
    our problem start here:
    we are using preset for define subcategories title background COLOR but now all these subcategories inherit parent background PICTURE by force.
    when we use color then there should be no image inheritance from parent categories.isn’t this?

    it seems our issue is not clear or not described well .
    kindly we don’t ask how to set subcategory picture.
    we set COLOR for each subcategory by preset but they inherit parent picture (background image)

    there is a clear issue which raised after recent update. and i don’t know how to describe it.
    this is the scenario that was working with no problem before update:
    1-i have a parent category with many subcategories
    2-i have to set an image for parent category page title and set color(not image) for subcategories page title background
    3-i set “image for the category page title” through Dashboard – > Products – > Categories – > Select and edit parent Category
    4-define a preset for whole subcategories and set page title color by Dashboard – > Theme setting – > Page title– > Page title Background and uncheck inherit and set a color in Select Color option
    now after update the step 4 has no more effect.
    theme has the ability to use page title color by preset but i am forced to make square image 1×1 pixel of colors and set for hundred subcategories because of last update.
    manual says:
    ” by default, the category page would inherit the settings from the shop page.”
    but why preset wont work on this default?

    Then save the Theme Settings and Theme Settings presets which are not saved.

    thanks for update , btw patch installed and theme setting + preset saved but for subcategory image still loaded from parent category.

    because skincare is the parent category
    preset is for subcategories

    It does not matter, preset does not differ between parent or child, it is applied to ID.

    Add the sub-category ID to the preset.

    thanks for your time and effort on following my issue.
    i can understand that the ID is the matter in preset.
    the screenshot you attached is from makeup category(1-/shop/makeup/sub) which is not mentioned and is from another preset, you could look at this please : 1-/shop/skincare/sub which i wrote above.

    sub-categories ID added to the 1-/shop/skincare/sub preset to show color but still they show image from parent categories ID(parent category).
    category with ID 70 should have image as background by category setting(parent)
    category with ID 75,76,77,78,79,80,81,82 should have color as background by preset setting(1-/shop/skincare/sub)

    well,i attached two screenshot: one from setting with proper ID setup and one from result in front-end
    can you clarify why preset setting is not working at there ?

    – everything fine with this one:

    but

    -kindly as you checked , we set color for “background color ” BUT we see a picture in title background! this is my issue after update that this color in not working in front- end. we set color but it show image in front-end .
    we don’t set that image anywhere for this subcategory but instead of color we have image in background.

    Please find the file: ./inc/template-tags/template-tags.php and line 1280, then relace this code:

    } elseif ( ! empty( $cat->parent ) ) {

    for this one:

    } elseif ( ! empty( $cat->parent ) && apply_filters( 'woodmart_show_parent_category_page_title_image', true ) ) {

    and add this code:

    add_filter( 'woodmart_show_parent_category_page_title_image', '__return_false' );

    to the functons.php of the child theme.
