    I am curious?

I setup a test copy of my site to investigate possible enhancements to core web vitals. I decided to give the ‘load HTML block’ instead of the page a go. Created an HTML block with content firstly and same issue as having no content at all, for some reason pretty much all assets get loaded even if the HTML block has no content. As soon I add some min-content everything seems to load on the page/HTML block anyway?

Am I doing something wrong?. or is this just the way it works? Have I missed a setting?

Use WP rocket as well but no point using HTML Block if it is just as slow as the original page but with a lot less content and no fancy stuff?

    cheers

    Hello,

Except for the HTML block content you still have a lot of elements on the page that needs some CSS and JS files.
But to reduce their impact on the speed, WP Rocket anyway needs to be used to combine and minify JS and CSS files. Read more information in our guide here https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/

    Kind Regards

Can I assume that even if you use an HTML block to replace the Desktop/Tablet content when browsing from a mobile phone, irrespective of this the full page assets are called and loaded to the browser anyway and not just the HTML block? It’s really just a question so I can understand the concept behind using an HTML block for mobile if the browser loads all assets anyway? Confused :O).

    Hello,

When you use HTML Block for a mobile device it will not load HTML and assets from the desktop version on mobile.

    Kind Regards
