Issue with custom layouts and overall slowness of the website

    Hi,

    1)I had used the custom layout templates provided with the theme for single product, cart and checkout pages. In these pages I had used woocommerce hooks which to display certain elements. These elements were present until I recently applied the latest patches.

    Could you please let me know what could have happened and how I can revert this?

    2) Recently the website has become very slow. Each page takes a good couple of seconds to load. I have implemented the following steps mentioned in the link – https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/

    However, there were no noticeable improvements. I did disable all plugin and enabled the plugins that come with the website. But I did not notice any change with page load speed either. Lighthouse scores are quite bad with homepage scoring 20-30.

    Requesting for you assistance. I am also providing the credentials for the admin panel of the website, in-case you would like to check it out.

    Hello,

    1. Please, provide us with more details about the issue. We need to know the name of the hook you used and the element that was hooked there. Also, check if the element is presented on the product page when the layout is turned off, and send us a screenshot of this also.

    2. We see that there is still a lot to do in order to optimize your website. You need to follow the article steps carefully and check the performance of all aspects of your website.

    Hi,

    1) I use “woocommerce_after_single_product_summary” for the single product page layout. Even if I turn off the layout, it still doesn’t appear. Two buttons labeled “Charity” & “Cashback” were used along with their appropriate prices obtained from the Terawallet plugin. Before applying the patch, this used to appear without issue.

    2) I have gone over the links and made the necessary changes, but when I enable any File optimization settings, the site breaks. The entire site would be blank except for a few images. Please find attached an image.

    Hello,

    1. Could you please check how it works with some default WordPress themes like TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront to understand is it our theme issue or not?

    2. Please, disable all external plugins temporarily and enable this option so we can check how it works.

    It looks like you are using some JS optimization that actually missing some of our theme scripts. Try to use WP Rocket instead which works better and loads all the scripts

    Can I not achieve something similar with the plugin that I am using which is provided by the hosting service as opposed to WP Rocket which is a paid plugin?

    We don’t know how your current plugin works but we see that some JS is either missing or misordered. In this case, you need to consult with the plugin developer for help on this matter.

    Hi,

    1) Getting back to the hooks not working. I used the storefront theme to check and the same issue was noticed there as well. Elements not showing up. Then I switched back to the woodmart theme and then the elements were back again. Not sure what the problem was but it seems to be working now.
