WPML language Switcher Menu Hover on Mobile

    Hello I’m using WPML plugin and on mobile phone I’m facing an issue with language switcher as there is no hover in mobile phone so I want it to turn off the hover only in mobile phone and set it to click.

    For now when clicking the parent menu to open languages the language is already selected and it is impossible to click the nested menu language items.

    Please tell how can I make the parent menu item just open the drop down on click/touch, so that user can actually click language they want.

    WPML Support says that it’s your theme issue.

    Hello,

    Mobile devices do not have hover by their nature, they only have the current item style.

    WoodMart allows creating a separate menu for mobile view and assigning it in Appearance > Menu. Then you show it by means of the Movile menu element in the header. You can get more details here: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/adding-menu-to-the-site/

    You can assign the language switcher to this mobile menu: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/

    As soon as you configure your mobile menu, let us know what you want to change we will provide custom CSS.

    I’ve added the menu here and now i just want to disable the hover function and change it to click>open drop-down and select.

    WPML support is telling me that is your theme issue .

    This is what they said:

    Since the main menu is controlled by your theme, we can’t modify its behavior, I’m afraid.

    So, I suggest to you to check in with your theme author in order to see if there’s any way to show the dropdown menu items with a click on the mobile menu.

    I did the same but in the menu item there is no option, I think it is because that the menu item is added by wpml. Please check the screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/xKkxMc0.png

    Can you provide me any css code or any alternate way to just turn off the hover for this menu in mobile view?

    Hello,

    You need to do that in the menu of the default languages. The many is synchronized in WPML not created. Please check the documentation on the synchronization of the menu in WPML.

    I’m trying to do it in the default language but there are no options to change for the menu. Please check it yourself I already provided the login credentials. the issue is very important for me ans I’m really not sure how to fix it as I tried all I knew.
