    Hello,

I’m coming back to you about a sentence that remains under the header (Select your brand attribute in Theme Settings -> Shop -> Brands).

I looked it up and saw that you had said at the time to disable the HTML block in the pre-footer, which I think I did, I even disabled the option in “Brands”, but the sentence remains.

    Here are some screenshots.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hello,

Yes, of course! If you go to the home page, for example, it puts it in blue, under the header.

    Hello,

I suggest you remove the section that shows that message via page builder, here is a video with more details: https://take.ms/eWDf2

I’d be happy to assist if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

    Ah… Yes… I’m really sorry… It was a stupid thing to do…

Is it complicated to film your screen and upload it to the link you sent me? Is it free?

If one day I want to make a video instead of writing paving stones and putting several screens?

    Thanks a lot!

Good day and good luck 😉

    Hello,

I am using the free full version of the Monosnap app. You can use any other app for showing your issue.

Thanks for your time and have a great day.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply!

I’ll have a look and compare with Loom!

I think you can close the post.
I have one last question, not related to the title, should I open a new topic?

Just in case, I’ll ask you here:

I’ve been advised to put a snippet in the “child” functions.php because I have accounts being created while my site is under maintenance.

But I don’t see any “child” theme.
Is there anything I need to do to get the child?

Then, as far as I know, the child is another version of the “real” theme, so I’ll have to install the child instead of the “real” theme?

    Thanks a lot!

    All the best,

    Jérémy

    Re Luke,

Yes, I’ve already read that, that’s why I’m asking you as well.

If I download and “activate” the child theme, will I lose everything I did on the other theme?

    That’s what I’m afraid of.

    Thank you for your help.

    All the best,

    Jérémy

    Hello,

Nope, you will lose your changes that are in the parent theme after the update, so if that changes you transfer to the child theme, everything will be saved.

You can create a staging site and check it there.

    Re Luke,

Thanks for the info, but since this is my first site, I don’t know things well yet.

When you say I have to transfer to the child theme, does that mean I have to copy/paste folders from the normal theme to the child theme so I don’t lose anything?

When you talk about creating a test site, does that mean? How can I do this? With software? Or a specific site? Will it work since the liscence is for a site?

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards,

    Jérémy

    Hello,

    1. In most cases, you can override functions from the parent theme via the child theme (in the functions.php file), thus you can add your own functionality. In case, if you want to change some files, you just copy the path with that file to the child theme and make changes there. https://take.ms/cbb3MP

Here are a few articles for help:

    https://www.csestack.org/overwrite-wordpress-php-file-subfolder-child-theme/

    https://webdesign.tutsplus.com/tutorials/a-guide-to-overriding-parent-theme-functions-in-your-child-theme–cms-22623

    2. Here is an article on how to create a staging site: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/

The license key can be activated once for the live site and twice for the staging sites.

    Kind Regards

    Re Luke,

Thank you again for your excellent responsiveness!

Regarding the first screenshot, I don’t have the ability to directly modify the code on WP, did you install a plugin?

I will take a closer look at the rest and translate it to understand everything. Thank you once again!

Have a great day and good luck!

    Kind regards,

    Hello,

No, it’s the default functionality from WordPress (Theme file editor). The below article describes how to enable it.
