I would llike to activate breadcrubs on checkout page (or previous button), so that the customer can go back.

Sorry to say there are no options to enable breadcrumbs on the checkout page. It requires customization and beyond our support policy.
you can try creating a Custom Layout for the checkout page and add the button or customize as per your requirements.
