greg-9795ParticipantGood morning,
We recently discovered that our website is slow at loading on mobile.
Specifically on the main page, when you press menu, it takes several seconds to load for both me and my boss.
Can you please advise what we can do to help with this? Is there are way to rearrange the loading order of features? Most mobile users will scroll or press this menu button (top left), so we want to make sure this button is one of the first and fastest things to load.
Many thanks,

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
The website is heavy, in the first seconds it took around 30MB, additionally, the CSS/JS is not combined:
Additionally, you have some videos that upload more and more resources – https://prnt.sc/h_fsL3GpwfqE
Send me access so I can check how that video is defined on your end.
Kind Regards

greg-9795ParticipantOK, I wonder what we could do to reduce that size.
Please see details in private content.May 9, 2025 at 2:27 pm #659512
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Disable this video for a while – https://prnt.sc/47DMjz1XLksx , then remove this gtag script as such scripts with errors also could slow the page – https://prnt.sc/-iIgDs3tFZsX
Even after disabling the video, the JS files cost a lot of resources – https://prnt.sc/B4F-Kr1tRjsV , you need to optimize them as per our article – https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/#Step_4 or enable similar options in your cache plugin.
Then recheck the issue and let me know.
Kind Regards

greg-9795ParticipantHey Luke.
I have removed the vido from the about page, removed one of the sliders from the homepage, and reset out google site kit so the gtag should be working. Can you please redo the checks you did before and confirm if this has improved the outcomes?
Also for several of the pages, we have “hidden” desktop blocks, and in some cases recreated them for a mobile format. I think however, that on mobile, and probably desktop, both versions are loaded. Is there a way to make the mobile version, only load the mobile specific blocks? If both are loaded, surely this will greatly increase the time required for the site to load on mobile?
I have attached a mobile speed analysis I ran on the site before and after the changes. As you can see, it is apparently performing poorer now.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.Attachments:

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
It still loads a lot of resources: https://prnt.sc/jJXi9BIBC6zX
Could you please create a staging site so I can do testing there?

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Sorry, I have disabled the remporary access plugin and then I lost access to the admin panel – https://prnt.sc/0uA565FnmaXq
Could you please enable it and re-send the link to access?
Thank you for your time.

greg-9795ParticipantThe staging site temp login link i sent you in the private section works fine for me on a private browser, so should work for you.
Let me know if there are any problems for you.

Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Yes, the access works. Check how the staging site works now (mobile menu, etc.)
Now it costs around 2MB – https://prnt.sc/KPKekpLkYlDR

greg-9795Participanthey
Lol, sorry for that misunderstanding!
Yeh it seems slicker on mobile now. There are some features not there though that I would say are essential to include. Specifically, the online appointment booking system.
What did you do to make the difference?
May 19, 2025 at 12:47 pm #661594
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
Please clarify which features are not there. Send some screenshots for a better understanding. On the staging, I didn’t enable all plugins back so maybe it’s something related to the plugin that should be enabled.
I left the necessary plugins enabled – https://prnt.sc/7zpvxYc9oEdb , then I removed the video that each time uploads a lot of resources – https://prnt.sc/IO0aKcPRYr7Z , try to upload a video as a gif to the Media and then assign the video from Media and recheck the issue.
In general, you can see that the issue is not related to the theme.
Thank you for your time.
Kind Regards

greg-9795ParticipantHey,
well purely on the staging site on mobile view, the key thing missing is the appointment booking on the homepage.
However on the staging website on desktop, slider revolution is also missing, so there is no title section on the homepage. We maybe don’t need the 3 sliders we did have, but at least one as a heading image is preferable.
Do you have a known method for creating a gif from this video? I have been trying various converters and not had any success.
May 19, 2025 at 3:08 pm #661643
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
On the staging site, I didn’t enable all plugins, I left most required so you could check how the menu works, as I mentioned above that the issue is related to the non-optimized website. I have enabled them back so those functionalities should be available. If something is lost there, you can clone the live website and move to the staging platform and do the same thing as I describe above.
You can try this one – https://image.online-convert.com/convert/mp4-to-gif

greg-9795ParticipantHye Luke,
Thanks so much.
On the staging site at the moment, the booking system isn’t up and running again.
The gif tool you sent worked, however the gif is over 80mb. Should is still upload that and change from the video background to the gif? That seems like a large file to me?
The site seems a lot quicker on mobile, which is great. That was the plan.
What do I do now to make that remain the case? Sorry for the pontwtially silly questions, I am just a compete beginner!May 19, 2025 at 4:26 pm #661661
Luke NielsenKeymasterHello,
The main problem is in the heavy video – https://prnt.sc/HIqY-3iNilYL so on the live site, you need to replace it. Yep, 80mb is heavy, I see that the video is around 3m. You can cut it so it will be around 10s and set the lower quality.
Additionally, you can use the CDN, more details are here – https://xtemos.com/wordpress-performance-optimization-the-ultimate-guide-in-2021/#Step_5
Kind Regards
