1. In order to make this option work correctly, you must choose the attribute on which you want to change the swatches buttons via the “Grid swatch attribute to display” option that is located above it.

2. Make sure that your attribute term doesn’t have any color.

3. You should set the image for the product variation in Dashboard -> Products -> Variable product.
