    Hi team,

I’m using the Woodmart theme and added the built-in Accordion widget to the sidebar on my Shop page.
Inside each accordion item, I’m using an HTML Block, and within that HTML Block I’m using a Woodmart Menu element to display sub-items.

    The issue:
When I click to open any accordion item and then select any sub-item inside it, the accordion works for the first interaction.
But after that, clicking the arrow icon of another accordion item does not collapse the current section or expand the new one.
The accordion becomes “stuck” and stops responding.

It looks like a conflict between the Accordion element and the HTML Block containing the Woodmart Menu.

Could you please help check this behavior or advise how to fix it?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Please deactivate all the 3rd party plugins and activate only theme-required plugins on the site, and then check the issue. I am sure your issue will be solved. Then activate the 3rd party plugins one by one and check which plugin is creating the issue for you.

Otherwise, if the issue still exists, then keep the 3rd party plugins deactivated and share the WP login details, so I can check and give you a possible solution.

    Hi,

I have deactivated all non-Woodmart and non-required plugins as you requested. Only the theme-required plugins are active now.
    However, the issue still persists.

Here is the behavior I can consistently reproduce:

On the Shop page sidebar, I added the Woodmart Accordion widget.

Inside each accordion item, I inserted an HTML Block.

Each HTML Block contains a Woodmart Menu element.

When I open any accordion item and click any sub-item inside it, the accordion opens normally the first time.

After that, clicking the arrow/chevron on any other accordion item does not expand or collapse anything. The accordion stops responding completely.

Since the problem occurs even with all third-party plugins disabled, it seems related to the Accordion + HTML Block + Woodmart Menu interaction.

Could you please help check this on your side?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Sorry about the confusion — I accidentally removed the access link in my previous message.
All non-required plugins are still deactivated, and the accordion issue remains the same.
Please help check it when possible.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Now I have checked your site and it is working fine.

    See video for clarification: https://jumpshare.com/s/eEZAU9kMhrkKUuY057Iq

It seems to be a cache issue on your site. I kindly recommend you to purge the cache from the plugin, CDN,clear server cache and double check the issue.

    Hi,

Thanks for checking. What you saw earlier was already adjusted — I temporarily switched the widget to the Toggle element for testing.

With the Toggle component, the collapsing behavior works, but it still doesn’t meet my needs. When I click one of the sub-items, the other Toggle items do not automatically close. It seems each item can only stay permanently open, permanently closed, or always open based on its setting. It doesn’t behave like a true accordion.

    What I need is:

When a sub-item is clicked, the other sections should collapse automatically,

And the section containing the active sub-item should expand automatically.

It looks like this cannot be achieved with the Toggle component.
If necessary, I can switch everything back to the Accordion widget so you can re-check the original issue.

Please let me know and I will adjust it immediately.
    Thanks again for your help!

    Hi,

I just wanted to follow up in case you missed my previous message.
    The updated login link is working, and you can now access the site to check the accordion issue;
Please let me know if you’re able to take a look when you have a moment.
    Thanks again for your assistance!

    Hello,

Disable AJAX Shop in > Theme Settings > Shop > AJAX Shop and check how it works.

If you want to use Ajax Shop, use the standard sidebar instead:

Edit your shop layout and add your filters via Appearance > Widgets > Shop page sidebar

You can also control the collapse behavior from: Theme Settings > Product Archive > Widgets > Collapse sidebar widgets

    Hi,

Thanks for your help so far — the collapsing/expanding issue is now resolved.

However, there is still one important problem:

When I click a sub-item inside a collapsed accordion section, the parent accordion does not automatically expand, and the clicked sub-item is not highlighted.
This only works if I keep all accordion items permanently open, which defeats the purpose of using an accordion.

What I need is the standard accordion behavior:

When a sub-item is clicked, its parent accordion item should automatically open.

The clicked sub-item should be highlighted/active.

Other accordion items should collapse automatically.

Right now this behavior is not working.

Could you please help check if this is supported by Woodmart’s Accordion + HTML Block + Menu combination, or if any additional settings or code are needed?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

The behavior you’re expecting (auto-expanding the parent accordion and highlighting the active item) is not supported by default when using the Accordion + HTML Block + Menu combination in WoodMart. Sorry, but there is no option in the theme settings available for that.

It requires customization, and this is beyond our limitations and support policy.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the clarification.

Since the Accordion + HTML Block + Menu combination does not support this behavior by default, could you please advise if there is any alternative way, using existing Woodmart elements, to achieve something close to what I need?

Specifically, I would like to know:

Is there any other widget (e.g., Navigation Menu, Filter widget, Sidebar Menu, etc.) that supports

auto-expanding the parent item when a sub-item is active, and

    highlighting the current sub-item?

If not, is there a recommended structure or layout (for example, not using HTML Blocks, or using a different type of menu) that can achieve similar functionality without custom coding?

Are there any theme settings or configuration options that help with auto-expanding active menu items in the sidebar?

I understand that full customization is outside support policy, but any guidance on the recommended approach using existing components would be very helpful.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

At the moment, there is no widget that fully supports auto-expanding accordion parents and highlighting active sub-items in the way you described.

    Please try this recommended approach:

Use the Shop Sidebar (Appearance > Widgets) with standard menus/filters.

    https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/widgets-and-sidebars/

    Enable collapse behavior from:

Theme Settings > Product Archive > Widgets > “Collapse sidebar widgets”.

    Hope this Helps!

    Best Regards,
