coup90ParticipantOur shops break down regurlarly after updates. Many functions like main color, footer settings, product single view settings are resetted.
This time we get an error “warning: Illegal string offset ‘page_builder'”. After deactivating all plugins and starting to reactivate them all, I could find out that WPML was the problem. But only this time. Last time, after an basic update the whole shop was crashed to the “factory settings”.What exactly is the problem of this?
It is getting very annoying. I had to update the shop many times till yet.
We are thinking of changing to Shopify because of this problem!March 23, 2021 at 8:05 pm #275840
Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please make the full site back up each time you update anything.
We are going to release a new version in the nearest future, please contact me before the update, I will try to update and check. Usually when the theme is updated nothing resets.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Best Regards

coup90ParticipantHi All,
this is not a solution for our current problem.
How can I bring the shop back to the status of 20.03.2021.
A backup through our host is not a solution, because even then all the settings are resetted. And what is the solution for our second problem with WPML?
When I activate WPML the shop breaks down “illegal warning etc.”.Thanks,

Elise NoromitMemberHello,
Please always follow this instruction: https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/update-theme-2/
Deactivate all the plugins not related to the theme during the update. The problem occurs on your site only, usually, there is no problem during update.
Please make a full backup of your site before the update.
Now the only way is to take the backup from the host and restore it.
Best Regards
