All page content no longer displays on pages.

So from updating a load of categories and removing a few theme generated pages like additional homes, i can no longer see any content on the pages like home or about us.

Is this a common problem?

No plugins have been modified or settings changed, are there supposed to be pages required for the theme to add content?
