Basel Child Theme is not working

The Basel child theme is not working.
I get the following message in the WordPress backend under apparence:

Basel missing Template. Themes need a exciting index.php file. The Child-Theme needs a Template-Header in style.css.

I already inserted a template header in the style.cc, and also in the style.css for the Basel theme.

You can download a working child theme from ThemeForest. It comes in the main package and contains all the necessary files.

Yes did did this already. It is not possible to install! During installation process I get the message, a child theme folder already exists, and hence the failure message I mentioned above.

You need to remove the broken folder first. You can do this via FTP or using cpanel file manager for your hosting.

Ok, do I have to create a new Child-Theme file, and a new child function.php then?

It is not possible to activate the child theme. The failure still exists, an I get the message: Basel missing Template. Themes need a existing index.php file. The Child-Theme needs a Template-Header in style.css.

Thank you, I did the steps in the description several times, but the problem still exsists!
