Hey guys, how can I make sure that my main blog archive and blog categories design is the same? E.g. I built my blog page in Elementor to add content above the posts, but when I open a category, it looks in a completely different way. How can I achieve that they are identical? Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

Try to use custom layouts for this, Navigate to Layouts > Create new layout, select the Blog Page layout type, and then edit it as per your requirements.

    Here is the documentation: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/posts-archive-page-builder/

Hello, many thanks for your help! I checked but on my end I am not seeing the Posts archive tab in Layouts! Any suggestions? Screenshot attached for reference.

Please disregard, I saw I had a pending update, and I can see the tab after updating. I just did as advised however when I attempt to filter by categories using the categories widget in the sidebar, nothing happens (i.e. the filtering doesn’t happen). For convenience I created a test post called “test” and put it just in one category, called “Гимназия”. If you try to click on any of the other categories, nothing happens, the page flickers a bit but you still see the same posts, including the one “test” in the category called “Гимназия”. Can you please advise?

    Hello, sure.

What I mean is that when I create a blog layout, the filter by categories doesn’t work.

I tried to record a video, please let me know if it’s more helpful?

Brief explanation of what I am showing. I show a test post called “Test” and the one category it falls within. Then I go to the blog page and show that whichever category I click on from the sidebar, the same posts appear (i.e. they are not actually being filtered). I illustrate this issue by showing that the post called “Test” which falls within just one category keeps showing no matter which category I click on.

You can find the blog layout in the Layouts area. Attached is also temporary access, please don’t make any changes to other areas of the site because it’s actively being worked on. Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello,

When you click on a category in the sidebar, it should normally redirect to that category’s archive page.

For example, I visited your site and clicked on the “High School” category — it correctly displayed the three posts that you’ve assigned to this category.

If you have another behaviour, share a small video for better understanding to reproduce the issue on your site.

Hello, thanks for getting back! Can I ask how can I make so that I have the same design I have for the blog archive for the blog categories as well? Kind reminder I am using a layout. If I assign the layout to “all archives”, the filtering by category doesn’t work (you can see on my site now, please). Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hello,

The reason the filtering is not working is that the layout you are using includes a custom Blog widget, which doesn’t support category filtering.

To make the category filters work correctly, please use the Blog Archive widget in your layout instead of the regular Blog widget. This way, the layout will apply to both the main blog page and the category archive pages, and the filtering will function as expected.

Nice, that worked, thank you very much! Is it possible that this works “Ajax” vs page reload?
Also, may I ask for general reference what is the difference between these widgets?
    Have a great day.

    Hello,

Sorry, the Ajax filtering functionality is available only for the Shop/Archive pages. There is no option for a blog sidebar.

As for the difference between the two widgets:

    • Blog Widget – Displays a static list of posts from selected categories or custom queries. It’s mainly used for standalone sections (e.g., on the homepage or custom pages).
    • Blog Archive Widget – Designed specifically for the main blog and category archive pages, so it automatically adapts to the selected category and works correctly with the built-in WordPress filtering.
