Hi! I have a custom design for my blog archive. I have various blog categories. Do I need to create separate layouts for each category and add query of the blog widget to show posts of the current category only or is there any other way?
    Thank you!

    #694808

    Hello,

If you want each blog category to have its own unique design, then yes — you’ll need to create separate layouts for each category and assign them using Conditions (“Blog categories > Specific category”): https://postimg.cc/c6gmvfhz

However, if you’re using the same design for all categories and just want the posts to change dynamically based on the category being viewed, you can create one layout and set the all Blog archive condition.

    Here is the documentation: https://xtemos.com/docs-topic/posts-archive-page-builder/

Hello, thanks for the reply. This worked!
One question: in my design I have set the categories title to appear above the posts. Is it possible to set this up dynamically in any way so that the category name appears?

    #695071

    Hello,

Navigate to Theme Settings > Blog > Single Post
Then set the Single Post Design to “Large Image”.
This will remove the default “Blogs” title and show the actual post title at the top with the featured image

    Here’s a screenshot for guidance: https://postimg.cc/kBCFtMHz

Hello, thanks for your reply! I am afraid this is not what I was referring to, I meant if there is any way to show the blog category name dynamically if I use a layout for all categories?

    #695339

    Hello,

Please go to Theme Settings > Page Title and select the page title design.

See Screenshot for better understanding: https://postimg.cc/WhNxmxsh/11a672dd

This will show like this on the blog category page. https://postimg.cc/V0s6S0Th

Hello, kind reminder that I am inquiring about a blog LAYOUT used for blog categories explicitly. In my blog categories layout design I have set the categories title to appear above the posts. Is it possible to set this up dynamically in any way so that the category name appears and use ONE layout for all categories vs separate layouts for each?

    Hello,

Sorry to say, I do not fully understand your issue. Could you please elaborate on your concern more with some highlighted, useful screenshots so that we can better understand and assist you accordingly with what you actually want?

Also, share your Site WP-ADMIN Login details in the Private Content field so that we can check this concern on your Site and help you out accordingly.

Sure. I will try to rephrase. I am using a blog layout for the blog categories design. Currently, the posts show dynamically based on the category selected. I’m hoping to add a title (name of category) above the blog widget. Is there any way, using the blog layout, to dynamically pull the category name? Or is the only way to achieve this to create separate layouts for each category? Thank you!

    Hello,

Navigate to Layouts > Edit blog layout and add the page title widget in the blog layout, and check how it works: https://postimg.cc/wyq9YM4h

Hi! I just did that but it throws an error. If I add any other widget, it works fine, but once I add the Woodmart page title widget and try to save, it doesn’t work. I’m attaching a video for better understanding. Can you please take a look? Your help is much appreciated!

    Hello,

I have checked your site and your custom layout shows a critical error: https://postimg.cc/tYQm46VK

Please deactivate all the 3rd party plugins and activate only theme-required plugins on the site and then check the issue. I am sure your issue will be solved. Then, activate the 3rd party plugins one by one and check which plugin is creating the issue for you.

Otherwise, if the issue still exists, then keep the 3rd party plugins deactivated and let me know I will further check and give you a possible solution.

Yes, please, but after testing please ensure you switch them back on as it’s a live site.

Hello, I already sent you WP access, have you been able to see it? If you need any further details, would FTP work?

Hello, I have generated a new link but now that I logged in, I noticed that again you left plug-ins deactivated and not like you found them. I mentioned earlier in the thread that this is a LIVE site. I also mentioned in the past when you did the same on another website that this is unacceptable and to please leave the site as you found it. This means that for a few days now, since your last log-in, certain things on my site such as my subscribe form integration, didn’t work. This is not okay. Please kindly respect my request this time and do not leave any unauthorised changes on my live website! I understand you may need to deactivate plug-ins but you must reactivate them given this is a live website. This has caused me loss of leads mid-campaign.

    Hello,

Your issue has been resolved. You can edit the blog layouts with Elementor without any issue, check back your site and check the issue.

    Hello,

Again there was a deactivated plug-in left by you… And my blog layout design was gone, you modified it.

Do you think it’s okay to make changes on my layout and save without my approval? I was potentially going to lose a lot of work. I am sending a screenshot of how I found my layout now vs how it was 2 weeks ago, which I was thankfully able to restore from revisions. This is unacceptable! I’d like to know how to avoid this madness in the future! It caused me a lot of trouble.

I mentioned a few times this is a LIVE site and kindly asked you to please NOT MAKE ANY UNAUTHORISED changes! Why did you first stop my subscribe form plug-in, now my translation plug-in and modified my design? This is not okay to do on a live site. If you need to deactivate something to test, then please restore it back before you log out…

The issue persists. I can see you added a “Page heading” widget and not “Page title” one as you advised earlier. Page heading shows the name “Blog” instead of the blog category name.

    Hello,

Thank you for your message, and I completely understand your frustration. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Just to clarify what actually happened: when I opened your blog layout in Elementor, the editor was crashing with a fatal error coming from the Page Title widget.

The widget was trying to load a WooCommerce function even though WooCommerce was not active, which caused Elementor to fail and crash the entire editor.

To make the layout editable again, I had to remove the Page Title widget because it was the direct cause of the fatal error. Without removing it, Elementor could not even open the template — meaning you would not be able to access or edit your layout at all.

No styling or design was intentionally changed; the only action was removing the broken widget to fix the critical error and restore access to the editor.

Hey again, I appreciate your effort to make it right. In my screenshots however you can see that other changes were made apart from adding a widget (I am referring to the section with an image of a cat and search bar in screenshot 2 which was gone). Anyway, everything is back to normal thanks to restoring a revision. To focus on the issue, I can confirm the error happens when I try to save with a Page Title widget. How can this be troubleshot? I sent you the log showing the issue is somehow happening from Woodmart. Thank you.

    Hello,

The reason is that this widget needs a WooCommerce plugin active on your site. But in your case WooCommerce is not active on your site which caused Elementor to fail and crash the entire editor.

Hey again, as this is a page title widget, may I ask in what way is it related to WooCommerce?
