can't activate the theme

When I activate the theme, it’s shows ‘API request call error. Contact your server providers and ask to update OpenSSL system library to the 1.0+ version.’, but my VPS is ‘OpenSSL 1.1.0g 2 Nov 2017’.

Can you help me solve this problem?

In this situation, we suggest you to contact your hosting provider and ask why your website can’t send any requests to our server’s API. Maybe there is some kind of locking mechanism.

I contacted with the supplier, they says ‘We didn’t block anything on your server also in our network. ‘, I guess all function on my VPS should be well supported.

So can you help me to activate the theme?

We can’t connect your server with the FTP access you sent. Please, send us a correct FTP access.

Our theme uses wp_remote_get function to call our API server and there it always show this error

Even if we change the API server URL to some other it always returns an error. It means that GET requests can’t be performed at all.
