can’t add a new sidebar

Hi, I can’t make a new sidebar.
I can create it, but then not edit.
As soon as I press edit, I get the following

“Sorry the content are was not found on your page” when I click learn more, it takes me to Elementor https://elementor.com/help/the-content-area-was-not-found-error/

But it does not help as none of the scenarios listed apply.

What do I have to do?

How did you create sidebar with Elementor? Sidebar uses Widgets to display details.

Go to Elementor > Settings > in the General tab > enable the option sidebar.

Sorry for the previous confusion!

Go Dashboard -> Sidebars -> Add new
Name your custom sidebar and save it
Go to Appearance -> Widgets and fill your sidebar with any widgets you need
Edit any page, post, or product and specify the newly created sidebar.

I am back to my original statement.

I can create a new sidebar. I can not edit it. Once I try to edit it, I get an error message

You have missed the screenshot of the error. You can edit the sidebar in Appearance > widgets:

The site was on a staging site and now has gone live. I now can edit them.
Before I could not see them in widgets at all. There were no new customer sidebars in Widgets > appearance, only the ones that were there by default
