Cart widget no longer shows selected attributes

I’ve noticed since a recent update the cart widget no longer shows selected product attributes.
For example if there is an item which comes in various colours, and I select it in Black and add it to the cart, the cart widget used to display it like this:
<Product Title>
Colour: Black

But now it only shows the product title and does not show the selected attribute. Is this a bug or is it intended?

These changes were made in a new WooCommere update and are not caused by our theme. You can check how it works with default theme on the cart page also.
