category widget on header is unresponsive

Hi, I am currently setting up a draft website using your ‘WoodMart’ theme and am experiencing a couple of problems.

I have a header with a category widget on the bottom bar, however although the widget resonds on hover no categories are visible. Please can you advise?

I am also getting an error when I try to update the theme version, a copy of the error is attached

Thank you very much for choosing our theme and for contacting us.

Try to do the following to update the theme:

1. Go to Dashboard -> WoodMart -> Theme License and deactivate the theme.

2. Go to Dashboard -> Updates and click on Check Again.

3. Activate the theme with your purchase code again.

4. Try to update the theme via Appearance -> Themes or via Dashboard -> Updates.

If it does not help, make the full backup of your site and update via FTP https://xtemos.com/docs/woodmart/update-theme-2/

As for the categories, please provide site admin access and page URL with the problem I will check.

Thanks for the advice re updating the theme your suggestion worked and the theme has now updated.

Regarding the widget problem I previously supplied the details for accessing the site by adding it to the ‘private’ box in my last email. If you can’t see it let me know and I will send the details again.The site currently sits in a password protected folder behind the current live installation.

You have added the Categories element in the header builder:https://prnt.sc/vg0uk9 as you see you have chosen the Category menu. I am checking this menu in Appearance > menu and it is empty: https://prnt.sc/vg0ty0

Add product categories to this menu.

Now I get it, originally it worked but I obviously deleted this menu which is why it stopped working!!

Could you also explain how I add Categories to the current Mobile menu? It currently shows the same menu as the desktop version but also has a ‘Categories’ tab which is currently greyed out.

Please navigate to Woodmart > Header builder http://prntscr.com/iyd2pe

Choose the proper header type (your current) http://prntscr.com/iyd333

Switch to the mobile view of your header http://prntscr.com/iyd3v3

Enter the Mobile menu element, enable showing the category menu, and chose the menu to show from the drop-down.

Many thanks ffor your help thus far. I have sorted out categories the mobile menu and the categories widget is working fine on most pages now, however on the “Shop” page the categories toggle is fixed in expanded mode and I can’t get it to toggle closed on that page. Can you advise me again?
