Disable promo popup with a button other than the "x"

Hi,

I’m using the promo popup with a button to another page, however once we click that button it goes to the page but the popup is not disabled.

I tried to add the class mfp-close to said button, but while it does work for closing the popup, it also gets the aesthetics of the original close button, which is far from ideal…

So, what I’m asking here is, do you know of a way for me to make the popup close with a button other than the original?
