Hey! We use square images for categories on our site and rectangle images for products. We don’t want to change this approach.
But we have category pages where we have both sub-categories and products. If we have fewer categories than our grid size (e.g. 2 categories on 3 item grid), the categories and products are shown on the same line and because of different image sizes, it doesn’t look great. Can we display products from a new line? So we differentiate categories vs products.

WooCommerce contains subcategories and products as a part of the same loop and we can’t separate them. The only solution in your case would be to create custom shop page layouts with Elementor and display subcategories and product elements in separate sections.
