    Hello,

We are trying to make the website suitable for people with special needs (accessible). We are using W3 validator and other online tools to check for compatibility. In order to make the website accessible according to the EU (European Union) standards, we need to test it via some online tools, one of which is W3 Validator. In order to have a website considered “accessible”, W3 Validator must show 0 errors (no errors).

W3 validator is showing us many times the same error:

“Element style not allowed as child of element div in this context. (Suppressing further errors from this subtree.)”

This error appears on every page of the website and not one page specifically.

We have already contacted Elementor Pro support and they told us that it is a theme related issue and that we should contact you.

Upon checking the forums here, we found other users reporting the same issue in the past: https://xtemos.com/forums/topic/after-update-to-latest-version-error-500-in-blog-and-posts/ . Sadly, we cannot understand what they did on their own to fix the issue and if they managed to fix it. It’s an error we’ve not seen in the past so we’d like your assistance.

In the private area we provide you link, access and a way to replicate the issue.

We’ve built many websites with Gutenberg and WP Bakery on other themes which all pass the EU standards for accessibility. However, we’ve never done it before with Elementor+Woodmart so we’d like to know how we can resolve these specific errors in order to achieve the desired results.

Can you provide us with a solution?

    Kindest regards

    Hello,

To better assist you, could you kindly test the functionality with default WordPress themes such as TwentyTwenty or WooCommerce Storefront? This will help us determine whether the issue stems from our theme or elsewhere.

    Regards

    Hello,

After a week of waiting we finally got a final reply from Elementor.

Turns out that the issue (or better issues/family of issues) related to the message

“Element style not allowed as child of element div in this context. (Suppressing further errors from this subtree.)”

from W3 Validator, is not your problem as they originally told us but rather its theirs.

They have an open case since last year: https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/24644

I’m sorry for asking you for a solution to a problem that’s not yours.

Considering that they have not solved the issue for a few months, we’ll try to fix it with JS.

If we add JS to the “Custom JS” field of the Theme Settings, will it work or we need to place the JS code in other parts of the child theme?

    Kindest regards

    Hello,

If you place it inside the custom JS section in Theme Settings, it will work globally on all pages.

    Kind Regards
