addyParticipantHi there,
Hope you are doing well. It’s been 2 years since using woodmart and I loved most of it.
Unfortunately, these days the website is very slow with woodmart.
Main problem: The long description + additional images of the product load very slow. It seems they are the last priority and they usually load at the end when all the other scripts have loaded.
Test already is done
1) We set the theme to Storefront and Accesspress. The site becomes quite fast and loaded both long descriptions and product images very quickly.2) We disabled all the plugins except required by woodmart, the result was still similar.
3) The website is especially very slow on mobile!
4) We also disabled cache plugins, Cloudflare, but no change…
How to test? (open both links in different browsers. Do test for both mobile and desktop)
Open Link1 (Product with heavy images)
Open Link2 (Product with fewer images)In both the case, you will see the main problem as described above.
We are using very essential plugins only.
Please advise…
Thank you

Artem TemosKeymasterHello,
When we check the first link for the first time (when there is no browser cache yet) it loads in ~3.5 seconds. https://gyazo.com/96947ca59bc0ad72400494c4b2b3eca5
That is quite fast taking into account that your page size is ~7.5 MB.
You need to optimize your page sizes and apply the following optimizations:1. Optimize images before uploading and remove unnecessary images.
2. Deactivate 3rd party plugins to test how it works without them.
3. Setup WP Rocket to optimize all JS and CSS files and enable page cache.
4. Use some CDN services like KeyCDN.
5. Enable Gzip and browser cache on your server. Contact your hosting provider for help in this question.
Kind Regards

addyParticipantHey, thanks for writing the details. However according to your points:
1) We use reSmush.it plugin to optimize our images. All our images have already been optimized. Each images is reduced by approx 50-70% already. So what would you say on this? Would you recommend some other software which can do much better?
2) How do I reduce the images on-page? Like, one idea is this – I want to disable the “hover” images on shop, category, upsells, related products area. ONLY one thumbnail of those products should load.
3) Friend, we are only using 28 plugins. These are tightly packed to our requirements. We have also disabled those plugins which are used occasionally and we enable only when needed. For example, Image compression tools needed only when new product images are added.
4) Already done man. Except “optimize CSS Delivery” everything is turned ON in WSprocket. “optimize CSS delivery” breaks the Header of woodmart theme for few seconds and then it becomes normal…
5) Already working on it. We have used Slackpath CDN in the past. This time I am considering Amazon Cloudfront. What do you think about CloudFront when compared with KeyCDN? Which one would you recommend more based on woodmart theme compatibility and SPEED!
6) GZIP should be enabled at CDN side or hosting Side?? Enabling at both sides can increase loading time…

Artem TemosKeymaster1. Yes, images seem to be already optimized well. But their total size is ~2.4MB and it may need some time to load them so it is not something that we can’t optimize or change in our theme.
2. You can disable “Hover image” option in Theme Settings -> Shop -> Product styles.
5. Sorry, but we didn’t have a chance to compare these two services. We use KeyCDN on our demo and it is working well.
6. This should be enabled on both sides.
