Free gift did not show up

I turned on the free gift option and set up the free gift conditon, but the free gift did not show up in the cart.

Maybe you are using a custom layout for the cart page. Navigate to Layouts > Edit the cart layout and add the free gift widget to the layout.

I added a cart layout, but it’s empty in the elementor editor. I had the same confusion when I create the single product page. In my understanding, if I choose a template, all the pages such as shop, single product page, check out page, are all in the layout builder and we can modify the default layout. Please let me know what’s the purpose of the template, and how I make modifications base on the default template.
