functions.php child not working

I’m winding why my added code on functions.php in the basel child not working with me.
i added the simple code to edit the text in the dashboard footer but nothing changes
“Thank you for creating with WordPress”

Hi,

Sorry, but we don’t know if this code is workable at all since it is not related to our theme. Maybe the code is wrong and it can’t conflict with our child theme.
