How to make a clickable phone button in header -click to call phone.

I use tel:06000000.. to create a click to call link but it just dont work. How to create button with font awesome phone icon in header so when i click i it open call dialog so people can call me directly without typing numbers. ?
edit: it works on mobile phone but not on desktop

On the desktop, it only opens a popup that you need to choose an app for the action. And it works on mobile because the mobile has an app that handles the calls.

This is not an issue, this is the default behaviour of the tag you are using and our theme has no influence.
