How to show subcategories of the main category next to the title

By configuring the categories of my site, I discovered that the theme offers the option so that the subcategories appear at the top of the page of the main category, next to its title. However, despite assigning its corresponding parent category to the subcategories and activating the option “Show current category ancestors” in the configuration of the theme> store> sidebar and title of the page> I have not been able to show the subcategories on the page of the main category. Can you give me some idea? , maybe I need some step ?. Thank you.

Try to attach some products to these categories and check how it works then. The problem is that subcategories are empty at the moment.
