How upgrade to newest woodmart theme without any problems

Hello,

I have on two sites woodmart 4.5.2
and newest woodmart theme is now 4.6.0.

one site uses

WPML, WP ALL IMport, loco translate, woocommerce as catalog

second is real woocommerce shop

I’m using woodmart-child

My question is how to make safe upgrade and what i should take care to not mess up anything on my production sites. What can go wrong.

Hello,

We Recommend you take a full backup of the website before updating the theme.

Then make sure that you have made all the customization to the child theme. Because any customization you added to the parent theme will be lost when you update.

After Updating the Theme Go to WoodMart >> CSS Generator >> Generate CSS file.

what about loco translation made? this is safe and will remain after update theme?

languages/loco/themes/woodmart-pl_PL.po

cuz translation is made to woodmart

and all settings changed on dashboard of woodmart like header, shop etc will remain after upgrade?

Hello,

1) You can save the translations you made and then can restore them after the update. That’s why I asked you to make a complete site backup before updating.

2) The Changes you made to the parent theme will be lost. So please make sure you save the customization to the child theme.

but i’m talking about not making changes to the template files but on settings of Your theme dashboard

Enable catalog mode i have ON and even change between woodmart or woodmart-child these option doesnt gone and my page is still the same like colors etc.

and XTemos Headers Manager

these changes will gone with upgrade?

That means all your customization are on the child theme. As you mentioned if all the Customization are on the child theme will not to go with update.
